visio-advent-calendar-2009If you liked our last Advent Calendar from 2006, then you’re sure to enjoy this year’s fresh, new version!

Well folks, it’s that time of year again! Here in Munich, the days are getting short, the temperature is dropping, and the smell of gingerbread and spices is permeating the air. The glühwein stands are full of people making merry, and the bustle of holiday shopping is increasing steadily.

For those of us stuck in the office, and not able to venture out to the Christkindl markets, I’ve a little Visio-treat to get you in the holiday spirit: the Visio Advent Calendar for 2009.

Instead of chocoloates, you’ll find Visio-related goodies behind each of the 25 doors in this year’s offering:

You can open each door by clicking on a number, then lifting the yellow control handle, like this:

opening-doorSorry to spoil December 9th for you, but it had to be done!

Many of the shapes are 100% USDA, bonafide fully-working  shapes from past articles on Visio Guy. You can resize them, tug on them, play with their control handles, and copy them into your Visio drawings.

But some of the suprises are just images that take you to articles on this site, because some of the offerings were too complicated to hide behind a door.

Whatever the case, you’ll want to be sure and right-click each suprise. By doing so, you’ll see a list of hyperlinks, the first of which will take you to the corresponding article on this site. There, you’ll find out more about what the shape is for, and how to use it.

Again, just right-click the goodie, after you open the door:

Now remember, no cheating! You’re supposed to only open one door each day until December 25th! 🙂

Happy Holidays to everyone, and enjoy the Visio Advent Calendar for 2009!
