Chris,
Can access your site but get a banned notice for forum. Happens on Chrome, Duckduckgo or Firefox. Tried Verizon wireless, local fiber, and school internet. See in Reddit another person had problem 4 mo ago, which is about when my problem started. Any thoughts appreciated.
Really love your site. Miss the forum greatly.
Thanks Steve
PS. My account name with you is Bork
Hi Bork 🙂
I am notoriously bad at nitty-gritty forum admin stuff, but I see Paul responded to one of your comments.
– Does this happen if you login with a private browser tab?
– Have you tried clearing browsing history/cookies/various data (I know, can be a pain…)
– Have you tried using a VPN to login from Des Moines or Madagascar something?
– Does your note mean you can read but not post?
I didn’t see you in any ban list…
I have the same problem, but I have not created an account. Thus, the website is saying that Guest is banned. I will answer the 4 questions you asked Bork.
1) It happens using a private browser tab.
2) I have cleared the data. I have also tried from multiple computers, my phone, different browsers, etc.
3) I have used a VPN from a different location.
4) I cannot see any posts. I get “Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum!
This ban is not set to expire.” I get the same error if I try to click on the “Sign Up” button.
I think I started having issues about 4 or 5 months ago similar to Bork. However, I did start working again for a couple months ago.
Chis,
I was out of pocket for a while and when I came back I could access the forum once again. Two weeks ago I started getting the ban msg once aain. I tried all the items mention above to no avail. FYI, below is the information I receive on the ban page.
Thanks Steve
