If you peek into the flowchart templates on offer for Visio 2010, you’ll see a new item called Microsoft SharePoint WorkFlow.
If you use SharePoint and need to design workflows, then this might be an exciting new option for those not able to use Visual Studio or not thrilled by SharePoint Designer.
The end of an age of terror is nigh!
Visio 2010 creates a live preview of your master shapes so you don’t have to fiddle and futz around. You don’t have to waste time and effort making low-quality, 32 x 32 icons with 16 colors that still look lousy no matter how much time you spend on them.
It is about time!
As I play with the Office 2010 Technical Preview, I am discovering more new features in Visio 2010 every day.
The live preview stuff is fascinating because it is cool to look and it saves you a lot of time. No more wasted cycles of apply and undo, apply and undo, apply and undo–just hover your mouse over an attribute and Visio shows you what it will look like: live, right on the drawing!
Today I’ll talk about live preview as it applies to formatting, theme colors and theme effects.
The hot-off-the-press Visio 2010 Technical Preview is in my hands, and contains a lot of new features.
One that really catches your eye is the Live Preview for Layout.

Did you know that you can work with Visio all day in the office, and take Visio supplements to keep your tired and bleary eyes from degenerating?
Then you can drive home in your Visiodrive car to your Visio house. After taking the baby for a short walk in his Visio stroller, you can plop down on the couch and watch your Vizio monitor–after you’ve pulled the shades over your Visio Glas windows, of course! If the vitamins didn’t work, you might have to watch the TV with your Visio-assisted artificial vision system!
And if your day was really hard, you can find spiritual solace at the the alter of Visio Dei, or recharge your mind and body with a few sessions at Visio Form!

Office 2010 betas are starting to hit customers hands (one way or another) and the buzz about Microsoft’s next big release is starting to pick up.
I just watched a video that presented an overview of SharePoint 2010. There is a short bit about the new Visio Services for SharePoint, which look to be quite interesting!
The Visio Guy website has been around since September 2006. That’s coming up on three years now! I can hardly believe it.
First, I’d like to thank everybody who has visited this site and made it such a fun occupation for me! I’d also like to thank my wife for putting up with my typing and ignoring her in the evenings.
